31st World FITASC Championships

16th-22nd November 2009

Laang Sporting Clay Range

Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia

Photos by Pierre Dubois
http://losttarget.com/s/2009/20009FITASC/

The page will be updated throughout the week.

I've also included links to news articles posted in regard to the shoot and a link to Australian Mark Farrow's posted photos.

Mark told me at some point he will be posting a video or two. He wanted to do a live feed, but not possible because of where the club is located. Pierre may also provide video for posting.

If I become aware of other photo links I will add them to the posted page.

I once took a wrong turn at Warrnambool on a two day ride from Melbourne to Adelaide along the Great Ocean Road. Beautiful place, friendly people.

The local newspaper looks to be going all out in supporting the shoot. I just added links to two additional articles.

Entirely possible, a citizen of Australia could own one for various reasons. OS competitors were just not allowed to import them for the shoot.

Sorry no they are not. I am here at the 2009 World FITASC and yes there are a few autos. You can shoot an auto here in Australia you just cannot import one.

I thought they had all been banned along with pump action and semi auto rifles see this..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Australia

Reading the regulations for semi auto's a permit is only granted in exceptional circumstances.

They let autos in for the World Police/Fire games held in 2007.

I see , one rule for the natives, another for the visitors. Sounds like the same for us in the UK with the Olympics with pistols.

Excellent write up and photo's on the event {hs#

As of this posting, the Australian site that has the results posted went off line......

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

The articles and Pierre photos are still available for viewing, but as I linked the results from there site and they are not on my server, we will have to wait until they come back on line to view results.

What normally happens is that you have to contact your ISP and pay an additional fee for additional bandwidth to get through the month.

Henry,

Are thre any links to scores that list all competitors, or at least the top in all categories? I'd love to check Team USA members, but have not yet found any sources.

Thanks,

I.S.

The Aussie site is back online.

Both my site and the Aussie site has scores for all shooters listed, not just the top ten.

The Aussie site has internet bandwidth issues! I have issues with the reffing! At all major Grand Prix, Euro and World shoots, there is always two refs: one for watching the shooter and perhaps pulling and the other watching the targets. In Oz, there is only one ref. I have seen dozen of pictures whereby the shooters has the but of the stock above the line! The ref is looking at the targets and not checking the line! They might have good target presentations but they falter on proper reffing! I have also noted that there a re few international refs in the pictures. Refs from other countries tend to equalise things!

The Lone Canadian,
Henry
