Last spring and summer was shooting trap at the local range every weekend.
Missed shooting from August until the past two weeks.
Seems like the flight of the clay targets is much lower than earlier this year.
This could be my poor memory or an optical illusion due to the position of the sun this time of year.
Think registered shoots are finished for the year for this local range.
Might the local range reset the trap machines to throw the targets lower to better simulate live birds for the local bird hunters to practice this time of year ?

The Trap machine is easily adjusted for elevation. They are often adjusted based on local conditions like wind. There is a specific height that the targets are supposed to fly. You can always ask them to be checked.

ATA/PITA targets must be between 8 feet to 10 feet high, 10 yards in front of the trap machine.
You really need to talk to the management at the club to find out whats up with the targets there.
